We at Robina Agri Partners (RAP), URC's Agro-Industrial arm, are engaged in hogs and poultry farming. We also produce and distribute animal feeds and health products, as well as glucose and soya products.
With our expertise and state-of-the-art diagnostic capabilities, we also provide local hog raisers a ‘total agri-solution' and farm management support service.
More of our known products are meat cuts and eggs (Robina) and animal feeds (Supremo, Uno+ and Top Breed).
Our Mother Company
Universal Robina Corporation (URC) is the food company of the JG Summit Holdings, Inc. (JGSHI) Group of companies. JGSHI was incorporated in 1990 and listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange in August 1993. We believe that being publicly listed, we will live longer because public ownership, transparency, and accountability makes us more vigorous, lean, and competitive.
We are one of the largest and leading branded consumer food and beverage product companies in the Philippines and have a significant and growing presence in the ASEAN markets. We take pride in being among the Philippines’ pioneers in the food manufacturing business, having been in operations in the country for 65 years. Our beginnings trace back in 1954. At that time, Mr. John Gokongwei, Jr. did well as a trader. He had learned the trade when his father died before the Second World War. Mr. John worked hard during the conflict and postwar years, in order to prosper. However, while he thrived, he carefully examined his company and correctly predicted that trading would remain a low-margin business.
Mr. John decided to construct a corn milling plant to produce glucose and cornstarch. He named it Universal Corn Products (UCP), the first plant of the company that became the URC we know today.
